where do i find the numbers on a 356 block, i believe it's a 61. i have a running motor i what sell

Serial numbers are stamped into the 3rd piece of the case just under the generator stand. The engine type number is stamped into the case halves right at the split just in from of the fan housing.

thanks found this morning they are 415 on the split of the block and P*89328* like to know what year and model. it does run, what would it be worth?

That serial number would make it a 1961 1600S, but the type number should be 616/2.
