Hi folks.
Is 3 in the ETKA, or ETKA type drawing below, shown in the correct position?
In other words, should the "L" shaped rubber piece(s) be positioned as an upside down "L" ?
I'll double check but fitting the rubber mounts as an upside-down "L" does not allow the instep at rubber mount to mate up with the snorkel, if that make sense but the part fits.
edit: I added an image of the 1.7 KY diesel. It shows 3 positioned in same manner.
Thanks,
Neil.

Thanks Timwhy and Dave. I searched but didn't find those images. My '88 snorkel mounts were positioned the same way.
I'd removed the snorkel then re installed months later. Online images made me wonder if I'd re-installed those mounts incorrectly.
I've been trouble shooting how rain water was getting into the non stock air cleaner. Samba thread on that, direct link to relevant pics:

I'm nearly certain water got in via hose to snorkel join. With snorkel at OE position, I wondered if that put the hose/snorkel join under a rain water drip point.
The snorkel will fit, higher up, with mounts upside down.
The hose clamp I used could've malformed the reinforcing wire in hose thus causing a poor fit. And, the clamp may've loosened up over time.
Neil.
With snorkel mounted like this, presumably OE position, I thought water was hitting the indent at snorkel then trailing in via poor join. But, water could drip onto most any point on snorkel above the hose/snorkel join, then drain in.
