We are a big baseball family & this is my son’s favorite quote. He made posters with this quote for his HS teammates.

Anything by Antonio Machado, who I believe was such a powerful thinker of his time caused the revolution that started the world wars.
I was truly humbled when I first read his words, how such a huge concept can be put in a few simple words.
· No, my soul is not asleep, It is awake, wide awake . It neither sleeps nor dreams, but watches, its clear eyes open, far-off things, and listens at the shores of the great silence. -Antonio Machado ...
Note of caution; Sit and really listen to those words. For it takes only half as long to comprehend as it takes to write them.
"Form your letters slowly and well: making things well is more important than making them." - Antonio Machado _________________

2 quotes “Men have been trained and conditioned by women, not unlike the way Pavlov conditioned his dogs, into becoming their slaves”
But in our time women are no longer subject to the will of men. Quite the contrary. They have been given every opportunity to win their independence and if, after all this time, they still have not liberated themselves and thrown off their shackles, we can only arrive at one conclusion: there are no shackles to throw off.
Esther Vilar “a woman and feminist”
The Manipulated Man (ed. 2005)
It was the conservative man who said women and children first, that notion is the foundation of our democracy, for since every war that is the standard.
Say the truth enough and it becomes a lie. _________________

The world is a beautiful place to be born into if you don't mind some people dying all the time or maybe only starving some of the time which isn't half so bad if it isn't you.
