I am about to attempt to make my own door panels. I want to make them close to original, but not so close that I am just copying the original. You know the whole "nice try, but those are not O.G." thing.
So. I am looking at where there is room for improvement on the originals. Many have put pockets in the doors, which may have been an O.G. option? But not for me as I will be running speakers in the doors.
But, pockets (like beetle door panels) in the walk-thru pedestal backs seems like it would be a logical match. The standard Bus after all is a vast space, but there really isn't anywhere to store stuff. I know it would be a bit of a custom thing, but if it is done right like an original it could fit well.
So.... has anyone done it? seen it? or have pics of it done?
