Better not use them. There too pretty to scratch!
Are you putting them on a 2wd or Syncro? _________________ This free advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.

Very nice! I'm just in the process of getting a set of adapters to put those A6 discs on the front of my van.
I'm currently running the 288mm discs but - bigger is better!
What are you going to use for pads? I had EBC Yellowstuff which were slow to bite when cold, then absolutely terrific. Currently running Akebono which are not nearly as good...
I'm planning to go with the Redstuff with the new discs. _________________ '84 Vanagon GL 1.9 WBX

Not that I know very much about them but I thought that Syncros already had the separate hubs? _________________ '84 Vanagon GL 1.9 WBX

I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on those pads after some miles. Your van is going to stop a LOT better! _________________ '84 Vanagon GL 1.9 WBX

Very well done video showing the new hardware, and also the video of rebuilding the calipers from VW Sharan. I am glad you have been able to source all these parts from Norway!!
For those of us in North America, are there any folks over here familiar with sourcing these parts, kits, and perhaps what Makes/Models of VW/Audi/etc those calipers would be sourced from? There is a Pull-A-Part (Junk Yard) I frequently visit, perhaps I could keep a list of vehicles to grab these calipers from.
I am looking forward to the next video or two of how you install these. Keep us posted!!

I've got the Syncro version of these Epytec adapters, calipers for this kit can be sourced from an B5/5.5 Passat or Audi A4 with 288mm brakes. |

I have been considering that set-up as well. Very interested in how you like it. Any chance you could get a measurement from the center of hub to center of caliper piston. I have built a spreadsheet to calculate the amount of improvement over stock. With a value of the Caliper mean radius estimated at 5.392" my calculations show and expected improvement of 12.4% over the stock brakes. |

I'll just point out here that ItalJohn is installing the 312mm front discs.
I already have the 288mm discs (4B0 615 301 A ) and I'm going to use the new Epytec adapters to install the Audi A4 B6 3.0 V-6 312mm discs (8E0 615 301R) on my van, too.
My G57 calipers will carry over. _________________ '84 Vanagon GL 1.9 WBX

What proportioning valve are you running? What do you have in the rear? |

I really don't know if there is an proportioning valve on my 2wd vanagaon?
If there is one, I was hoping to use it as it is.
I will upgrade the rear brakes to discs as well, but will concentrate on the front first. Will use these calipers together with the epytec kit for the rear. The challenge will be the parking brake.

Yep! It is on the passenger side/right side. Follow the hard brake line from the right front wheel and it will be mounted on the inside of the forward chassis structure. (If memory serves me correct!) Or close to it. Usually covered in road gunk. _________________ This free advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.
