Does this look right on my ‘62 chassis? Should the hole for the trans cone have this oblong shape to it?

It's 'spoda be round, It looks like it got hammered by the nose cone after a long time with a bad front mount.

That is easily fixable, all you needs is a hammer and dolly... maybe not even a dolly and just a flat edge. plus, if you f up, its not like you see it and neither will it affect operation.

Hey, so I just checked my 66 chassis and I have the same issue. It was a baja so it was most likely driven hard.

Flop Stop, or a mid mount trans bracket will help prevent the damage.

That’s what I’m thinking of doing now. The top of this where the inspection plate goes is kinda buggered up too. Someone at some point I time had one of those backup switches installed at the coupler
