Tires have plenty of thread.
If you can see the thread...we've got a problem! I've seen this placed in ads since the old newspaper style ads. |

"Duel" port 1600 engine is a good one. I guess the cylinders all fight each other, but still seem to run great! |

Same sort of thing "No lowballers!"
There's a guy on craigslist right now selling something that comes up when I do a particular search.
Every ad is "No lowballers!" but he keeps reposting it every day at about 10% lower.
Shit dude, what constitutes a low baller if you are dropping the price 10% every day. I'll wait 9 days. _________________ How to Post Photos

"my loss is your gain!" has a constant companion: "over $60,000 invested. asking $32,000"
that is not an investment. that is flushing money down the toilet
my technique for buying Lazarus projects ( dead for 3+ days, and surely they stink ) not listed for sale:
drive by often enough to determine his and her car. Dually pickup and minivan - check
drop by around halloween when both vehicles are present and ask if it's for sale. he says no. you hear "yes! yes it is!" from the kitchen. slink away
drop by again around Thanksgiving when both vehicles are present. It's for sale now. show the guy 2/3 of what you are willing to offer, in $20s. wife sees that, the hell he has been though since halloween was warming up in the bullpen. the hell coming up when you walk away with a fan of cash will be World Series.hell. if he holds out, borrow the rest of what you will pay from your bud. _________________ 73 Beetle Baja, Ghia front brakes, Type 3 rear brakes, 2220 ( 94 X 80 ), Weber Progressive, Bosch SVDA, '97 Mustang seats

Brilliant.

"Runs like a top"
So it just sits there & spins?
"Mature owner"
"A real creampuff"
Sounds like code for overly-inflated, no substance.
"Original miles"
"Only needs... ...and it will be worth $....."
After you put 2-3x that in it.
"Diamond in the rough"
Good, bury the fucking thing so someone else can dig it back out when it's actually worth something. _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

It may have already been said but, "barn find" is another one (like "fully restored") that nearly always turn out to not be remotely accurate.
Just because someone parked a piece of shit in a barn years ago doesn't make it a "barn find." It's "a piece of shit stored in a barn" find. |
"fully restored"
can't tell you how many "fully" restored cars i've seen that have old wiring, untouched underside, dirty suspension....
a respray, carpet and seat cover is NOT "fully restored".. |

Forward these to the tax department so they can claim their share of the spoils. In my state, if you sell over 4 cars a year, you are a dealer and better be registered. _________________ .ssS! |

The car ran great when I parked it 3 years ago. Just needs some fresh gas and a jump. Yeah right... |

That's because it is an "opposed" engine! |
