So I'd like to something like this on the front of the bus. What paint should I use ? It'll need to come off at some point, so I don't want it permanent.

Thanks for the replies.

A custom decal/sticker may be your best bet.

If your are using a clear coat base coat, you could do it with a single stage paint on top of the clear

Put an extra couple of coats of clear on the front before you paint the little dude

When you want it removed you'll have to wet sand and buff away the single stage. You may also want to re clear the "V" or front panel to match the natural orange peel from the original paint job. If the person doing the work is good they may be able get away blending in the polish job. It all depends....

Thanks for the response. My bus is original paint, single stage, no clear. It's old and I 'd like to keep it that way. So looking for something that has a ...dare I say, a patina look, that will need no clear.
Thanks again.

Do a sticker then, no way you're gonna do it with a paint. Maybe have a negative made in vinyl then paint with plasti-dip.
