I used an "age calculator" found at: https://www.calculator.net/age-calculator.html and found out that at 9:34 am central time this morning my 1967 Bus produced on Jan 20th, 1967 is...

I thought I was being pedantic 
No body really knows when their bus/van really left the factory. On buses first registered in Germany it must have been between the date stamped on the title and the the date of the first registration. These dates are another nine days apart on mine.
Unfortunately the vast majority of VW owners don't have this information because nobody kept track of it (for buses/vans not first registered in Germany) or the data simply got lost because the original title was replaced by a new document. I am just lucky to have a copy of the original document.
The date of conception (start of production) is as close as most people here will get.

Build date May 15, 1963. Same day as NASA launched the last mission of the Mercury program. I just thought that was interesting.

Bus has been having winter nap and it is still cold up here but perhaps will put on a warm coat and go out for a spin and shake off some of the winter cobwebs. Makes me wonder if the workers that built these buses more than half a century ago ever expected them to last this long!

My '6613 window was built on this day back in '66....5-16-66 originally delivered to Griffith VW in Clarksburg,WV..I'm the 3rd owner. I bought in March of '94 out of the local trading paper in Montgomery,AL where I grew up
