I wonder what's on the back, to the left of the VW emblem?

I was wondering if the bus was used as a camera car in the making of the film? "Third from the right (1950). I also noticed that it does not have vents up top? Apparently the picture was taken in 1951, the film was released december of 1950?

I was thinking that too - Let's install a huge window and then block it with logos

I wonder what it says on the decklid

maybe it is even a rear hatch?! ther seems to be some kind of latch handle or knob in the middle.
The logos on the advertisements seem familiar to me but I'm not sure.
I believe it some kind of far east or African import for dried dates or possibly figs or fig coffee.

Amsterdam 1962.

The Barndoor is an import vehicle, probably an ex damaged one.
The license plate starts with double D.
The double D's have a nickname here in The Netherlands namely, "Duitse Deuk" translated "German Dent".

cool pic!

Somehow this area looks so 'Austrian'. I don't know the place, but the candy store reads 'Heller Drops' in the glass cabinet store front. Heller is a famous candy producer in Vienna. One member of their family is also a famous artist and songwriter (Andrè Heller).
These wooden/glass cabinet store fronts are typical of Austrian cities like Vienna. too bad we cannot see more of the lettering or company name on the bus front.

Everett, here are a few of those Heller 'candies' (still available in 2020, not NOS Laughing ).
Hey all you Barndoor guys around the globe, feel free to pick a 'Wiener Zuckerl', everybody, just like in the 1950s ! Very Happy Wink
