I recently replaced the gear selector ball joint from Germany supply. Pretty easy upgrade if you already have all the parts out. I waited a few weeks for the part hopefully it pays off.

I bought from German Supply once, hopefully never again. Those steel balls are available from several different sources for $10 or less. I get mine locally from Transworks in El Cajon.

Good job though on the video and description.

One detail to note: it isn't unusual for there to be fine metallic crud (and plastic, if you've broken the original ball) in the front housing area. What you DON'T want to do is get any of that crud into the front bearings, so don't stand the trannie up on its bell housing until you remove the front housing, wipe out the housing area well, and clean it up. You DON'T want that cruddy oil to drain back into the main trans cavity through the front bearings! Once clean, it's OK to stand the trannie up on the bell housing.

While working on the shift mechanism, be sure to keep any foreign crud out of the bearings. You might cover them with a clean rag.

meh...

i'll echo what those said above me. I ordered from GS when they were "good" and it was horrible. I think I would rather eat metal and shit parts than ever try and order from them again.

A better option...

https://weddleindustries.com/products/1000204/1002085

Plus they have them in stock. GS doesn't.

He also works on buses. I've known him for almost 15 years and it is good to see him doing well again.

probably going to start a dumpster fire here...

GS 'use to be' good, but out of the blue it went downhill FAST. I 1000% understand people, myself included fall on hard or difficult times but I communicate when they do...not for pity or 'woe is me' but to keep people I work with informed of what is going on.

it's disreputable to leave people hanging. it happed to you with that engine you purchased form Europe. I wish the guy the best, but he should really explain what happened, look at his feedback:

https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=...;start=200

it started off good, and got worse and worse. he never replied, but logged in and kept quiet. he made peoples lives miserable by having to deal with banks/paypal/credit card companies trying to get refunds for orders not shipped...

i'm a lot of things...and admit that I am...but to do what he's done with no explanation... I don't feel bad for the guy 1 bit. perhaps he could make a come back, and that would be great but he needs to "own" what he has done in the past. a good apology post in his feedback and in the bay forum would probably serve him well.
