I’m going to be installing extra gauges into my 67 and while I’m meticulous in mechanical work, my electrical wiring and cleanness is lacking, my planning for wiring lengths have a bit to be desired and trying to get 10lbs of wiring into a 5 lb bag while looking neat and professional has always eluded me due to patience running thin.
This time, I want to make it right so I need help from other members to post up some pictures of wiring done right, what connectors you use to connect three light bulbs together in the gauge cluster while still being able to remove and add if needed while looking slick. What’s the best block connector for the engine bay since there will need to be at least 4-5 wires added.
Trying to stay away from corrugated plastic wiring loom if at all possible

I like spiral wrap wrapped in tape. Still flexible. As for crimp connectors, a sensitive subject here, for me I use T&B connections instead of those thin brass connectors that turn black. Think about it, if they are so great why is everybody having so much trouble with them now?

I try to use heat shrink on anything prone to corrosion, moisture, or shorting-out. _________________ Yet another person with a '66 project: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=526418 |
