Good question. Im not sure but it could be feasible. No pictures of the dash though. _________________ If you can't dazzle them with your brilliance, baffle them with your bullsh*t.

I thought about conversion kits for the rear window of Ovals.
But don't think windshield kits existed.

is the body number 3*8 693 - which puts it around may 58? _________________ "we're here on Earth to fart around" kurt vonnegut

Since the car is a very late '58, I'm willing to bet the oval dash was grafted in when the car was new. Lack of pictures doesn't help. _________________ Thanks,

Interesting that the heater ducts are at the front just like on a '56. The VIN plate is also held on with Phillips head screws so something shady going on there for a car that has never been restored.. Some sort of Frankencar. Definitely didn't come from the factor as described. _________________ Chris

I saw that also. Wondering if it's really a 56' with a big rear window grafted. |

the stumbling point with all the claimed 'factory big window ovals' is the fact that it is not simply a case of fitting a later roof to an oval car. the windscreen is where the inner part which includes the dash is welded to the outer roof. the dash pressing includes the inner windscreen frame up to the headliner see pics below. to make an oval/big window zwitter they would have to weld together an inner panel made of an oval dash and a big window screen surround. why would they do that?
if the advertised car is from feb 58 that is 6 months after the big window change-over...

no confirmation that I know of. most that turn up are ovals that have been updated with the big rear window kit in the past. the one that sparked this topic was unusual in that it had the larger windscreen too, but no photos of the dash...as I pointed out in my previous post this would not be a simple case of people on the assembly line making an oval reaching for a new big window part, shrugging their shoulders and fitting it. it would entail extra cutting and welding to fit. the changeover to big window production was done during the summer holiday shut down. _________________ "we're here on Earth to fart around" kurt vonnegut
