|
|
Hi guys so replacing the one side of my engine compartment seal channel and noticed that the one on my other side slopes downward towards the front of the car. I recall the ones in the beetle and bus are straight or parallel with the sheet metal but what I am seeing on the passenger side of my 66 ghia vert it is not.
I can not compare it to the other side as that had rotted away and been removed by the PO before I got the car. Anyone have the answer to this or can you take a peek at your car?
Thanks!
T

Here's a peek at my '71 with a new seal in the original channel. I had not noticed previously, but the seal does angle down toward the front.

Found this picture here at The Samba.
This car is a -66.
It seems that the seal channel is mounted with an angel and not parallel.
Maybe it’s different in other years?
