Can anyone let me know of effective methods of rust proofing my '72 floorplan? The only rust in the body is under the pin for one of the clever swivelling windows, and since I am painting the beast this year, I want to take the opportunity to kill any surface rust, repair the patch under the window, and rust proof the floorpan, sills, inside the doors etc. Sound deadening and thermal insulation would be a nice bonus (and possibly another concurrent task).
I've heard that fish oil works well, but I don't want the bus to stink, and I'm not sure if the weight of the bituminous stuff is justified. Are there any other good options, and what are the trade-offs of various treatments? Can anyone suggest any good techniques for applying the stuff _________________ Jules |
