Hey, I need to know how much oil my '83 VANAGON holds, its aircooled. I am about to change the oil and filter and realized that I have no idea how much to put back in (besides enuf Laughing ). Please help a relatively new owner/member and clue me in. Thanks to any and all who respond. Peace,,,Moosie

with filter change 3.7 quarts, without filter change 3.2 quarts. That's according to the manual.
Start out with 3 quarts, then check it. I keep mine between the marks on the dipstick. Just be careful not to overfill it, that can lead to leaky seals.
