My how the Vanagon forum has grown.
Once upon a time, Vanagons were the hated VW bus, with their fancy water cooling.
Eurovans and Vanagons were lumped into one forum, and it was a ghost town.
I even had to fight with the other bus guys, the fact that a Vanagon was indeed a "bus". (IT IS).
Time marches on, and things change. I've went through a few cars since then, but I always kept the Bus. I pretty much just parked it and hadn't had much ambition to work on it. last time I really did much to it was when I got it here.

I've kept it just in case our sketchy economy went belly up, and I had to bug out.
It seems that is happening, so now I'm getting it back on the road again, and maybe traveling soon....

Welcome back!

Like you, I let mine sit unused for far too long after I first picked it up, "PS. I can't believe I let this thing sit for 5 years after I bought it as a project ", but I've tried to make up for that error since then

Given your name and art portfolio, we look forward to seeing some cool Vanagon themed art too!

Welcome back!

It’s been a few years.
Wonder how Ken a VanAgain will like your thread title? But I imagine if you fill a shopping cart with parts, he will like it just fine! Laughing

Hey Mightyart, welcome back!

Yep. Vanagon = Bus. Forward cab controls, rear engine, rear wheel drive, 4x4, AWD.
(unlike those pesky minivans (front engine, front wheel drive) that we finally drove away to their own forum.) Razz

Good to see you back Art !!
Some of us just hang in the haze of Bus land, Vanagons, Bays , Splits.
I think we bought out 1st Vanagoon in '97, a '86 Gold beater Van, filling the void of our '71 tintop Westy that had given up on it's latest engine, found our '91 Carat/Wlfy. a year later, a '91 for $9800 in 1998 w/ 45 K on the clock, a few years later my wife was bitching about the Rabbit truck being to small, 2 seater, rattlie ect., so I found our '86 Doka, that shut her up... Wink Embarassed Laughing
