Hi all.
I am finishing the body of my 1954 oval, and I find that the back does not fit well.
I am going to replace the ends of the sides with some Wolfparts plates, since they give me much more confidence than any, but I would like to know if someone has some reference points before cutting and welding again.
I show you some images where you can see the cuts that I made initially, and how it fits badly later the hood with the roof in the part of the franchise.
Can someone help me out please?

Can you draw a few lines on what you think is off? From this side of the picture, it is unclear what you want reviewed, or what you need.
It looks like the decklid is off but I am unsure if some “ playing” with the 3 different directional adjustments would take care of that.

Thanks for answering Jimbo.
It is as if the entire rear had been lower, and now the rear hood does not close well.
If you look, there is an image where you see an elevator jack, to raise the hood, and that the franchise with the roof is correct.
It's quite strange everything ...

| I am just throwing this out there and it may be completely wrong. But in some of those pictures I see what looks to be a rotisserie stand and from the rear it looks like it was bolted up directly to the rear deck lid cover mounting points. Do you think the weight of the the body could have stressed these mounting points ever so slightly, just enough to make the fitment off? |

I was wondering the same thing. It is why I try and keep the body on the pan.
Here are some dimensions. They may prove to be useful in determining if things are out of wack!
Overview and key.
Red short
Yellow long
Yellow short
Red long
Green
When I bolted everything together. It looks like this.

the sequence as shown is red short, yellow long, yellow short, red long

Hello Volksvr6gti.
Well, I'll look at it, because it's not a crazy idea. Back in the day, I thought it was a strong anchor point, and since I had to cut the back tips, it would do me good.

The deck lid sealing surface is essentially on one plane so if you have any straight line left from your original body it should be usable to line up every thing else.
It looks like in your picture this seal edge is original and not crunched, right? Are both sides parallel?
Maybe you have pooched up the vent area like others suggest from the rotisserie.

Right, the part where the bonnet closes with the body is original, and it is straight.
I will see if it is a problem that he had given a little of where he supported him with the turner.
