Update:
SFPD recovered our vanagon tonight (just three days later!)
Someone called it in, parked in another part of town. Some garbage inside, but not too bad. Yay!!! Smile
Thank you caller!
Thank you SFPD!

I had to report Big Red missing in SF today.

Is it possible to add a scroll bar to the numbers in this thread title?

Thank you for these Samba, VanAlert and Nextdoor threads to let me know that my vanagon may yet still be in the city somewhere and recoverable.

I'm sure my daughters would have a tough time if I caught the Covid, but passing on w/o passing on the Vanagon might further bleaken any prognosis.

Does anyone recommend links to a "kill switch", "gps device", "trunk monkey", or other life support for vanagons?

Thanks

Chris

Post up on facebook vanagon groups too. A license plate number is important for anybody looking as well as more pix.
Good luck

When I got my vanagon back, I noticed the inside sliding door handle was removed and there was a roll of duct tape. No evidence that I could tell that it was hotwired. It sounds like half a dozen vanagons have been stolen in San Francisco in the last couple of months. Perhaps many have been recovered. I don't know if there is a common way or reason these have been stolen.

Is your rig an automatic or stick? I have a kill switch on mine which is a automatic and can share the details with you.
