cusser - I think you'll be waiting a looong time for the IRS to deliver vw parts!
I'm not immune to frustration but we need to be patient and allow for the fact that this is a major pandemic which has globally shut down factories, airlines and affected staffing and logistics. also bear in mind that there are millions of people ordering billions of things...I would not want to work in the postal/delivery business right now.
EB - in the uk junk mail has been suspended for the duration to lighten the load, hopefully for good! _________________ "we're here on Earth to fart around" kurt vonnegut

What's slowing the mail is Amazon. They have agrements wirhnthe USPS that gives them priority over the rest of the mail. Our mail carrier delivers Amazon all hours of the day and on Sat and Sun. No regular mail on Sunday. |
That must depend on location since the last three "two day delivery" parcels from Amazon I received arrived in four, five, and seven days. My local post office also only makes one delivery run Monday through Saturday, no deliveries at all on Sunday, and if your mail didn't show up at the office to be sorted and put on the truck before 6:30AM then you're not getting it until the next scheduled delivery day. _________________ 1960 Ragtop w/Semaphores "Inga" |

Sorry I should have read the OP better. Salad dressing has nothing to do with VW parts.

I bought a ragtop clip from a member on this site, who lives in Canada. I am hoping to get it sooner, than later. But reading through this, makes me wonder if I will see it, in my lifetime! _________________ Jimbo

I have not seen any delays here - just bought a bunch of M14 rifle stocks and got them in just fine. WAtched the tracking came in on time.
I ordered me a 22" Southwest Discada for cooking outside and it is in the mail just fine. Cannot wait to cook on that thing. |

Hopefully once it's shipped it will get here at a decent time. Problem is, it's still being processed. They've had my money for 7 months but I dont have a part. Had to order a similar part from a different supplier and got it in a week. I had to have it for an engine build. |

Huh! I ordered a new temp probe for my Green Mountain Grill. It arrived two days after the order was placed.
I shipped a CDI box to Norris in Tx. Friday. I just checked the tracking on that package. It'll get there on Tuesday. _________________ I have learned over the years.

I shipped 4 distributors to California on Saturday and they will be there on Monday.
The delays are on the supply side, not on delivery. _________________ Glenn

I have been assured by my local post master that the recent changes prescribed from the newly appointed head of USPS has slowed down mail . Christmas rush will cause never before seen delays. My personal experience is that usps tracking is becoming wildly inaccurate. The details of the policy changes are easily found in what ever search you feel comfortable with. _________________ Fat chick owner/operator |

I ordered : coil, points , plugs etc from CP1 Sunday night. Got an email yesterday saying it shipped and would be delivered Aug 13. Got another email this morning from DHL saying it was out for delivery , ya right. How can it ship Wed. and get to me in Ohio today, plus it was the free shipping option. Thirty minutes ago bell rings and damn if it isnt box with CP1 blue tape all over it !! No back order parts , all there . One happy old man here. |

4. The USPS as well as FedEx and UPS is WAY behind. USPS service and timeliness especially just fell off a cliff about 2-3 weeks ago due to overtime cuts- exacerbated by carriers being out sick- and they are actually being DIRECTED to leave parcels behind if delivering them will result in overtime. |
With the USPS that is only true with bulk rate mail and standard parcel post. By Federal law, the USPS can not delay Overnight Express, Priority Mail, or 1st Class Mail for any reason.
UPS, FedEx, and all the rest, do not have any Federal regulations on when their packages must be delivered. |
The new Postmaster General acknowledged in a meeting with Congressional leaders that these things are indeed happening. Federal law doesn't seem to mean much to this group.

Also, the concerns swiftly became bipartisan:
