Is that just buffed out. If so that's some kind of a miracle. What a change. _________________ what a long strange trip it's been |

Then and now...what happens after the car is sold...
My '85 after 17 years of owning it. Pretty clean, stock and rust-free (I bought it in NM). It provided many nights of camping and countless days of daily commuting...
Kirk from Northwesty bought it and I encountered it a few years later a mile from my house after it was painted, converted to a Syncro, etc...(if the current owner sees this I have a 1"+ stack of records from 1997 - 2014 for you if you're interested in adding them to your records)...
Here it is with the '90 that replaced it. You may have noticed that the wheel covers on the passenger side don't match the wheel covers on the driver side. Mismatching them on the front/rear axle is much more noticeable than mismatching them on each side of the car.

November 2018
The way I found it. Was sitting behind a small mechanic shop for 7 years.
August 2019
After a real good cleaning, waxing, wheels and tires, all new suspension and a 2.5 Subaru engine later...

Probably more like doing it right, in many ways.
OP: In case you can't tell, I think this is a great thread idea, thanks for starting it. _________________ 1991 Vanagon GL 2.1 AT Westfauxlia. "Frankie" Totaled https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=764510&highlight=carnage

Bird, BAM! Another one rubbed out.
Charles, Looks like the right direction to me. Can't wait to see it done.
Dave I don't know $20.00 in new bumper ends, A used hubcap, Little white paint good as new. Better than new it's got a ARB!
Thanks Mike.
Mr. Clark, I have to admit that is super. _________________ what a long strange trip it's been |

The day I got it.. Needed some work!
Taken about a week ago. Been sitting warm & comfy in this spot for a few years. But, I have plans... don't know exactly what they are, but I have plans. And a Subaru engine & harness!

Some dramatic updates on this thread. Mine in its Craigslist ad in 2005 and today.
