Hi everyone,

Was looking at buying a 1999 Eurovan but it has 250k for around 12k.

How long do these typically last (engine wise)? I was originally going to go for a 85-92 Westfalia but am sort of realizing I may want something newer that can more reliable.

Is this a good deal? Knowing this, would you think it's reliable? 250k is a ton of miles...

Thanks,

What model van?

We would need to have access to the maintenance history in order to assess it's reliability potential. For example, have either the engine and/or the transmission been replaced/rebuilt? Are those 250k miles city or highway miles? Brakes, suspension, electrical, cooling, etc. These can be very reliable, but lots of variables are at play with a 21 year old vehicle of any kind.

250k in 20 years is highway miles, it’s all in how it has been cared for
