RootBeer square lights Westy with ARB awning northbound on US 52 @ ~10 am today, just north of Rochester Mn following orange Baywindow Riviera Camper. I'll see if I can get a frame or two off my dash cam later. _________________ '87 Westy 'Flossie','86 Westy 'R1','86 tintop GL - Subi2.2 'J2','83.5 stock tintop L 'ZoomBus','74 Karmann Ghia, '63 Notch

It's probably unusual to see either that 124 or a T3 on the present day streets of Germany. Both chassis were in production during roughly the same era. _________________ Casey--

There are TONS of Vanagons all around Germany. Littered. They have the same prevalence as 90s Chrysler minivans had before Cash for Clunkers. If you try to take pictures of all of them you will not go anywhere fast. _________________ '87 Syncro

I went to Germany yearly from 2000 to 2017.
I didn't drive all over Germany, but mostly in SW Germany.
My eyes were attuned to "noticing Vanagons".
Towards 2017.... seeing a Vanagon was rare. Maybe one every few days.
Not as often as in Seattle. _________________

I took this photo in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 2012. Those seat covers are . . . different. _________________ 1985 Westfalia 15 degree EA288 Boxeer |

It's a college town. The cars were probably passed down from their folks. |

I don't think anywhere in the world has a higher density than the PNW. Last fall I did a loop from Munich, Germany, to Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, France, and back to Germany to visit family and do some sight seeing. I don't think a day passed where I didn't see one.
I already posted these here, but somewhere in Bavaria https://i.imgur.com/ArmsUdLh.jpg somewhere near Liechtenstein https://i.imgur.com/vuixkyHh.jpg in Zurich https://i.imgur.com/B21Q5gWh.jpg
And today on 95 near Beltsville
It said Westfalia GoWesty on the back of the pop top. Triple color scheme, looks pretty neat. _________________ '87 Syncro

^ Looks like it's being shipped rather than towed, so that's probably good news. _________________ '87 Westy in Wolfram Grey Metallic |

I went to go trail riding with some friends and found a fellow van owner / MTBer. Just as I left he spotted me and waved! Little bit of a difference in wheel to fender gap!

A couple weeks ago we took the ferry to Lopez, and on the way to the island we were directly behind a mid-80's Adventurewagen, and on the way back we were right next to an early Westfalia. Neither of them seemed too interested in our Eurovan. _________________ Casey--
