Smile

I’m surprised at the silence
My view - pre56 (& probably pre58 too) front bumpers have rotational symmetry order 2

I have never noticed any details to suggest they mount only one way.

This may be the only difference.

I know I put one on upside down once but I think the only issue was I noticed the license plate mounting bolts were down low instead of up high.

This was on a later bumper where the holes were drilled - not the early Wolfsburg welded-on nuts

I did a quick measurement of a Wolfsburg bumper I have and the front bumper mount holes appear to be an even distance top to bottom

I roughly traced the outline of one end, and transferred it to the other end (inversed) and it looked the same.
Number plate bolts look centralised.
Bumper sits vertical when on the floor either way up.

Would mean the deluxe trim is not sided either.

On my 55 Wolfsburg ( still narrow gap BD bumper) I had a hard time figuring out which way to put it back on the bus, only the Patina ( more rust on lower edge) helped decision. the welded license plate nuts are definitely centered on this one. probably the same on late BD (very early 55).
