So this afternoon I got around to looking at this after all the great input.

I AM SUCH A DOOFUS!

This bus is my euro bus project that I bought in April 2018. I do not lock my vehicles at home because I leave nothing to steal in them, my house is 100 feet from the street, and no one has stolen a Vanagon in Maryland in at least 15 years.

Sooo I have not locked this bus since I have owned it, except for last weekend when we took it out of town.

This afternoon I am looking at the slider thinking how to add power to the contacts to cycle the lock to free up the key input when I immediately realized that the slider does not have the power connections to mate up to the B pillar connections! Well DOOFUS of course it does not. You swapped out the original dented slider with the burgundy slider you saved in 2008. D’oh different lock tumbler set!

And DOOFUS you also replaced the sun damaged rear hatch with that same door set from 2008.

Mystery solved. I am a DOOFUS!

Swapped slider handles and rear lock and all is well.

Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

Thank you all for your sage comments on my idiotic problem. Rolling Eyes

But I am still installing the remote keyless entry system anyway. IQ less 25 or not. I want the kill switch on the remote system. Cool
