I have a pair of intake manifolds marked MB, they have a slight offset.
Who is MB ?
Who made them and when ?
I'm not convinced either is correct, but When doing a search I came up with 2 possibilities: Mr. Bug or original Weber?
I have pictures if needed but they look like they are just slightly offset and marked MB toward the top.
Thanks! _________________ 1967 Bug ( the daily rod )

-Are the manifolds for a dual-port head, or single-port?
-Are they for single-throat carbs or for dual-throats?
-If for duals, are the fastening bolts/holes for the carbs arranged in a rectangular pattern near the corners of the flange surface?
MB might be a German manufacturer from the '60's or '70's but I can't think of any at moment. |

Heres a photo of mine. They are round ports and have a locating pin hole on flange for the original style heads. They came with those carbs, I bought the whole package used at a swap meet.

Nobody? The company was Mega Bug. Purchased by Empi way back.that's all I know. Why Empi never took off the "MB" is beyond me... _________________ "A petrol engine can start readily, run smoothly and give every appearance of being in good order, without necessarily being in good tune." - Colin Campbell, "The Sportscar Engine" |

I ran across some IDF intake manifolds on CB performance. It refers to a slight offset manifold as being "MB Style" _________________ Daily driver: '69 Baja owned 44 yrs - Plan B: '81 Rabbit Diesel LS Deluxe - Plan C: '72 Ghia

Ya I saw that too. MB must have some sort of significance. _________________ 1967 Bug ( the daily rod )

Yea, it was mr. bug, i'v thrown a bunch of those away. Nothing special about them, thier offset is just enough that you have to use their crappy linkage. _________________ There are no stupid questions, only stupid people,

You don't have to. I made these 'extensions' so the CPS bellcrank center pull linkage could work.

I was just wondering what they were. I didnt plan to sell them or anything. I am actually using them.
I'm glad they aren't anything special since I've already welded extra material to match port them. I had meant to ask before I got started to make sure I wasnt messing up something special.
Hopefully I dont have too much trouble fitting a linkage, they came with some 45 Dell's I scored at a swap meet. _________________ 1967 Bug ( the daily rod )
