I have several sets of front fenders, all fit a 1967. and would like to know if the convertible fender is any different from a sedan fender. Two of the sets appear original , one the light blue and the other Yukon yellow. I know that the Yukon yellow is for the convertible...vent is 1 1/2 Inch from edge of fender and has a round hole for signal. Blue fender which again appears as original has a "D" shaped signal light hole and horn grill is 2 1/2 inch from edge of fender. So please tell me, if you know for sure is the round hole on signal light where wire goes and the 1 1/2 inch from the horn grill to the side of fender correct? I am looking for the correct front fenders for my 1967 convertible......do you have any??? |

"D" shaped signal light hole and horn grill that is 2 1/2 inch from edge is 100 percent an aftermarket fender.
The ones with the horn grill opening 1 1/2 inch from edge and a round hole for turn signal are original german fenders. |

67 style front fenders with 2 1/2 horn grille spacing were originally used on 68-72 Euro Econo Beetles.
When VW ran out of replacement 67 front fenders in the late 70's these fenders are what they sold over the parts counter at VW dealers. They are not aftermarket as is widely believed.

Aren't these fenders the ones with the "D" shaped hole where the signal light mounts? Wasn't the round hole dropped when the factory ran out of the 1 1/2 " grill fenders? |

Sorry wheel607, of that I know little. You might try looking through the fender reference thread for more info or post a question there. _________________ -Bruce
