if you mean the one posted by me, with the cabrio on the left, yes it appears to be one of the police type convertibles - maybe an austro-tatra as the hood irons are visible and it has vienna plates

What was the rationale behind the Police convertibles? Did they make them so the rear seat passengers could bail out quickly if they had to give chase?
They seem like they'd be unusually cold and uncomfortable in a German winter, particularly in the hard winters of the 40s and 50s. And even more so where they had canvas doors.
Seems odd that they'd make Police cars that didn't protect the officers from the elements.

^^ I think the idea was that the occupants could be seen and also, as you say, jump out quickly. four of these large caps would fill up a saloon. as for the elements - people were tougher then...
