Could you take that piece to a machine shop and get a few 1" dimples in it?

OK that would look nice too.
A 1" dimple die costs $33 on eBay, can't engage a machine shop for $33.
Or maybe I can fake it with sockets etc in the hydraulic press?
OK I'm gonna do that, one way or another.

My line of thought was the width of the work piece. My press has a 22" opening, which I think is fairly standard. If it's narrower than that, definitely get the die.

OK I cheapened out and tried to use a couple sockets for "dimple dies".
It sorta worked.

Here's a good one and a not-so-good one.
Was difficult to center one socket ontop of the other.

Not bad for using what you already had laying around! Looks good.

Doing its job.
Ida been in deep kaka without it.
Basically wouldn’t be able to drive in the rocks (as I did).
Concavity likely ushers the rocks towards the dimpled holes at the corners.

Also added a little 45deg ‘fairing’ to help it glance off or lift over a stump, rather than hook on it.

My humble suggestion would be to put 90 degree bends on the side of the sheet metal, and drill/tap hose in your square tube.

For a couple of reasons:
1. If you use this as intended, a nice flat bottom will slide over everything (christ!)
2. Not having you bolts all jammed up with mud and crud will make oil changes that much easier.
i have HATED bash plates on bikes that were bolted on from the bottom.

Please to be enjoy this non-technical, technical drawing:

I like the bolts on the side, the further forward bolts could also work as hinge points so the plate could unbolt at the rear and hinge down from the front of you didn't want to completely remove it.

If you go 1/8" steel you could also add ribs of 1/8 wall 3/4 leg angle to make it stiffer and act as slide rails...1/2" leg angle would also help and give a tiny bit more clearance.

I've never seen exactly how the rear of these things attach, looks like it bolts to the moustache bar... Maybe I'll add some mount points to my 2wd bar for a skid plate setup.
Looks cool I bet it gives you some peace of mind.
Even with a steel oil pan I'd be super worried about the impact shock on all the bolts and threads into the aluminum case without a skid plate.

There's a shop down in south park where you can get big (1-1/4" or so) ball bearings free from a dumpster to use as dimple pushers. Some off cuts of steel tube with radius carved on the I.D. as a receiver die would be a good set of home made tools for dimple.

Whoa Crankey, you’re willing to share your favorite industrial dumpster with me?
I’ll be your best friend. 🤣🤣

Realistically, I can't take it all.
I posted before I saw page 2 and 3 so didn't realize your already done. Looks pretty nice and not too much hassel to live with when it's wrench time under there. My moustache bar is now bare steel so I'll be adding some points of connection like that before it goes back into my rig.
