Seems like so much wasted space just to fit a shower in it. |

In the photos, I don't see the shower layout. Almost like the drawn layouts don't correspond with the actual vehicles. If so, then the shower must be just a circular shower curtain track in the ceiling (which I also don't see in photos) and a handset water sprayer. That would be pretty impressive to have a water handling floor and handset and circular curtain if it all was out of the way the other 99% of the time. I just can't see it. I'd use it to clean up the mountain bike....

Actually, looking at the size of the table in the one picture, how much yea want to bet, that the table sits down on top of the shower pan and becomes the floor for the kitchen area. |

Wow, that is an extremely clever use of space. Bravo!

Yea, I must admit, after looking at the other pics, it's not a bad layout, but you need the giant high top to pull it off, if you use the top bunk as the main bed. Looks like it has a heck of a lot more storage than a westy, being you don't end up with wasted space over the motor.

Awesome that they're able to use the full front seating area. _________________ wv2yb0252gg092706 |

Here's one currently for sale in France, based upon a 16" Syncro no less. It's only a couple of hours away from me but too rich for my pocket . . .

Many thanks for all the extra information about the ELSI Le Pélerin.
Does anybody know if the factory still exist?

Ciao Folks! I own one of those rare Els-Industie T3, bought it in France 18months ago, it's a Syncro, 2 diff.lock, 1.6 td JX, 1988.
No, the shower is not 'such a waste of space', because you stand on it while cooking. No, you don't shit in the kitchen, coz the bathroom has its own cabinet with a door.
Yes, french do shower, and are actually clean people, like anywhere in the west in the 21st century)))))))
I'm in touch with the ex-CEO of Els-Industrie, they ended the activity in 1999, made few LTs and T3s, many Peugeot and others, for a total of 1,000unities +/-, mine is actually a unique piece, he said.
Feel free to ask if you have any curiosity!)
You can see a lot about it on this recent article (french website : https://www.fourgonlesite.com/?s=Els
Cheers to all 🙌👌💪🍻🤙

I spent some time looking at the pictures (very interesting layout) and one thing that stands out for me is that the driver seat swivels fully backwards, which opens completely the layout.
That's something that I cannot do in my Westy (seat hits the steering wheel when swiveling, can only face to the side), do they use a different swivel mechanism? _________________ 87 Syncro Westy EJ25 ("Tardis")

Sorry to be a curmudgeon here, but that's kinna who I am as many of you have noticed.
Don't think it's a very good layout. My main problem is lack of general moving around room. The rear double seat takes up much of the floor space that we have with either tin tops or Westies. And when the bed is rigged, it has to be made up each time. It seems to need a topper pad. Where does that live during the day? There is no way to just fold the sheets and covers back out of the way for daytime use. And when the bed is down, where to you stand to change? In the shower or the narrow space by the slider.
Inventive, but no thanks. I'll pass.

He has one, just seems to be asking for information on the manufacturer not comments on the design.
Maybe the OP came up with some information not posted here? After all he's had 11 years to do it. _________________ 1987 Syncro Westy/2.0L Tiico |
