I'm working on these for my Mefro Rim Hub Caps (from Van-Cafe/Rocky Mountain Westy. They'll sit within the recess of the hub cap. I know stickers are available, but..3D print is better 💯 I'll add the 3D print file to the link in my signature eventually.
Does anyone have a preferred mounting method? Two screws + epoxy and call it day?

I bought stick on VW emblems for my Mefro caps. I used a single pop rivet between the v and the w. Not that noticeable since my letters were silver.
Just a thought versus screws for your interesting design.. _________________ '68 Westy- my first VW and vehicle/Bus- long gone.- sold it to a traveling Swiss couple....

Nice - just found what you did:
Yea, I was planning on screwing from the backside along with epoxy so it's snug and hidden. _________________ Forrest Walker Whitmore

Ive had good luck with 3m very high bond double sided tape for something like this. I know what you’re thinking, tape for something that is going to have to survive several million revolutions at highway speeds? This stuff is serious and once its applied one would have to mechanically cut or pry the two layers apart. The tape would certainly last a lifetime of use in this situation. _________________ 1991 multivan, FAS 1.9 tdi, Peloquin limited slip

Great idea I have lost two already! |
Yes, I lost some too until I pop riveted them on..... _________________ '68 Westy- my first VW and vehicle/Bus- long gone.- sold it to a traveling Swiss couple....

Sounds like a great plan since you have more meat or thickness to work screws into versus my almost paper thin decals... _________________ '68 Westy- my first VW and vehicle/Bus- long gone.- sold it to a traveling Swiss couple....

When I pecked up an extra set of stock syncro 16" wheels from someone in Bozeman,
one of the center caps was this..worth reproducing too I think..

I've used that tape and have had good luck too - although in exterior locations that are a bit more static and dry. My worry would be water or dirt getting behind the adhesive and slowly de-laminating.

We'll see how it goes! 🤞

Those are cool! Looks like the standard "4WD" emblem that is normally used under the mirrors? _________________ Forrest Walker Whitmore

Yup, I always put it on the front driver wheel.
It must be after market from Europe..much lower quality plastic that keeps deforming at the slightest heat i.e. sun, brakes.
If someone came up with a replica or the file I would dremel an extra standard one I have and glue that in place. |

Would be easy enough to do as I'm doing the VW one previously mentioned. What's the diameter of the hole where it'd be placed and the max diameter of emblem? _________________ Forrest Walker Whitmore

The circle around the 4WD is the same as the VW crest on the stock cap 50mm.
The 4WD is 44mm. |

I'll just need to figure out the backside of it - probably will do an offset inward so that the 55mm sits atop a smaller hole (~50mm) in the stock hub cap.

Cool ! and quick too..
Just an observation, they can be produce with any mods you judge appropriate, but the crest and lettering
are only 1mm thick in the originals.

Thanks for the tip - I was eye-balling it at 1.5mm. _________________ Forrest Walker Whitmore
