Have my new tank. I dumped a bit of mineral spirits to clean it out a bit and poured it out. Giving it a second thought, will this hurt the tank?. It seems to be taking a bit of time to dry out.

Mineral spirits, as you noted dries pretty slowly. Makes an excellent adhesive remover, just have to give it time to work. What's nice is I haven't found any painted surfaces it has any effect on, so safe for stuff like sticker removal on a painted finish. It definitely won't hurt your tank.
I'd just leave the tank open so some air can circulate and let it eventually dry on its own. Once gas goes in it'll mix with the spirits and wash out any remains of it. You can also let the tank warm in the sun, then blow it out with a shop vac set up to blow, or even leaf blower.

Thanks GS guy. Its been sitting for a few days and still smells like spirits. I'll let it sit for a few more, then blow it out. Just want to make sure... |
