Ah so your og beam is modified to be adjustable. Do you maybe know if max height is stock height or do you get higher as stock beam wise ?
Or do you just can go lower ?

Both Low and High a little bit, but of course the goal is not to go higher with this kind of setup

Went through a bunch of pages and didn't see anyone running stock 14" bus wheels. I don't know much about lowering buses, just wondering if there is a reason everyone runs 15's?

On the front, I'm running stock '66 14"s, with stock sway bar and stock spindles, and only an adjustable beam - with the Wagenswest Babystang disc kit:

I can go full left and right without ever touching the wheel wells with the tire, 185/65/14.

15"s probably look better, have a larger selection of choices, and there are more disc kits that fit them.

I run stock 15"s in the rear, for the 25.6" diameter tire size, for final drive ratio, and cooling purposes.

Hi,

sorting out the specs on the front suspension on my '67 T2.

hoping to run flipped spindle front, stock beam, and stock 15" wheels.

does anyone know of a disc brake conversion that will work with this setup without widening the track and avoid tire interference issues .
thanks -

the empi kit is probably your cheapest choice. I have installed one without issue. they bolt right up with no mods and the stopping power while not amazing is better than a drum set up

Nate at wagons west makes awesome stuff. give him a call and i'm sure he can suggest a kit that meets your requirements. Be prepared to spend in the neighborhood of $1300 and wait at least 6 weeks for delivery

I am finally lowering my bus with the Airkewld kit.
I am having a hard time finding tires in the same brand and model. I want them to match.

Im looking for the below sizes

Front 165/50/15
Rear 195/60/15 or 205

How do you like these tires? Would you change the size at all?

I like them. I debated on going 205’s on the back but think these fit the DC and the look nicely.

Hey guys, will this shock work for the rear of my lowered 62, which is IRS. (KYB 343144) The GR2 shock, which is now called Excel G.

FWIW I also want to use them on the front, which I'm not concerned about... spindles and a stock beam up front.

The bus isn't hammered.

Help!Smile

63 double cab. Running 195/60/15 on all 4. 2 inch narrowed beam up front. Bug trans swing axles and thing rear drums with notched plates. A bit tight in the rear but mainly concerned about running and bottoming out in the front.

Suggestions on tire sizes that I should go to?

Having had lots of help by all the pictures in this topic...here is my setup. This may be helpful for somebody else.

Wanting to go for fully original height, I have no choice but to lower because of the entrance in my garage.

I've been driving a slammed panelvan, but because of the (new) technical control in Belgium, this is no longer possible + looking for more comfort on a sunday drive with wife and kids I've been restoring a 15-window for several years. Almost there...
