No updates for a couple weeks but the body is blocked and ready for paint, fingers crossed hopefully that will happen in a few weeks. The chrome has come back and I started getting the vent windows back together. When the body leaves for paint I will concentrate on the engine and transmission.

Reassembled the door handles this evening. When I disassembled them I damaged the tumbler. I really wanted to keep the original Huf key so bought a wolfsburg west handle to use the tumbler. The original brass tumblers are to wide for the WW tumbler so I had to file the edge of the part that the spring pushes against. Just happy to save the original door handles for another 67 years.

Its been about a month since I have posted progress but I have been knocking things out. The wiring is about 95% done, transmission has been gone thru and reinstalled the nose cone had a previous repair but I replaced it and installed new bushings. Brakes have been done hope to bleed them tomorrow.

The interior has been ordered and will be here in a couple months. The engine parts are ready to be picked up so that’s what I will be focusing on next. All the engine metal has been blasted not sure if I will paint it powder coat..

I am very happy I went the powder coat route on my engine sheet metal. I did the 50-60% gloss and it is tough as nails.

I used this place https://reckonplating.com/

I would say over all they did a good job I had to send a couple pieces back that didn’t turn out well but they took care of any issues.
