68 Bus emblem

I have a 1968 bus with all the original paperwork. I am trying to figure out if this emblem is something that the factory put on the bus or if the owner did. Any ideas?

It’s the shield of a Worms , Germany In the Upper Rhineland

I would guess an owner lived there

Agree. The coat of arms for the city would have a full red background, and the star at upper right would be gold/yellow. The city name would sound like "vohrms" in German.

I knew if was the coat of Arms from Worms Germany. I was wondering if the factory put in on or the owner? According to the Bill of sale the owner purchased it in Worms Germany. Maybe it’s like a dealer tag? What do you think? I am restoring the van and wonder if I should keep it on the door and restore the emblem or remove it?

I would keep it , but not restore it. "They are only original once."
