|

I'm really struggling to figure out what year this Hazet Tourist box is.
It has the rear mounting bracket with the 2 bolts and wingnuts to secure to the back of the wheel. Two square holes in tool base appear to be factory, not put in afterwards.
Also has the what I would call the "finer" piano hinge with 5 or 6 hinges to it instead of earlier 3 or 4.
Whats got me stumped is the tool location clips ie the more traditional tool arrangement instead of that "quite different" 66/67 kit as pictured in last pic below.
Cheers
Any ideas what year? Is it even for VW or Porsche?

… looks like an after market, Hazet tool box - originals had a blue felt liner and the original tools were a fine quality (not made in China).
I had an early empty tool-box, I sold in 2018 for $450 and bought an after market complete box for $99 - the after market box is really crummy - I removed all the tools, put in a cardboard shoe-box and sold the round Chinese box for $35 on thesamba classifieds...
… as for the year of the box shown being 1966-1967? The year is not important - the quality is > I believe it's a Chinee re-pop - z _________________ 5/50, pastel green 11G - SOLD

This is the later 66-67 toolkit , the box in question is the hazet tourist which I think were more marketed towards the Porsche crowd |
