I saw your post on FB...lucky guy. Love it. Very original, nice plain dash, great interior.
One-piece bumpers? Closed guards? Rearward vents? Dealer badge?
Thanks for posting.
If you can contribute to this thread, maybe with comparison photos or observations, please do.

(I’ll update soon)

Yes, it is on peces bumper and closed Guards, only 2 in front.
If anyone have 2 rear closed Bumper guards, it is welcome.
The Dealer Badge is form a great VW House in Berlin.

Ace to see more detail, thanks
Stuff like the material behind the radio blanking plate
Nice to have the one piece bumpers! Probably one of the last
Rearward vents. 3-row grill. Carpeted bulkhead?

Any rust?

Has an “April 56” build date, yet a May 56 (5/56) ink-stamped clock

The Gazelle above appears to have standard vents.

Wow, top car.
Thanks for correcting me on the vents and the clock.
Lots of little updates over a short period between these two cars - yours towards the end of April, mine end of May.

Looks like a Neiman steering lock (there were also Huf steering locks).

Having a quick search on TS, the situation seems a little tricky.
There is a small pin that needs drilling out in order to access the barrel.
Even this drilling appears awkward.
Seems the barrel is unlikely to state the code.
People suggest taking it to a locksmith...

I found these threads. I’ll let you do some reading and decide the best action!

I would seek out the help of Marcus Rakete in Germany, master VW keyman.

Marc is on FB too.
