Now when I have to reacreen it's a typical process.

Plastic frames are strengthened with the add of alum channel.

5/16 plastic corners
Alum channel
.125 spline

Radius one corner to fit

So far the frames just friction fit. May glue/silicone them in the future.

Notice flat metal bar repairing a cracked frame

That would be an 1100 series minus the garvie springs. That was my entry level job into the glass biz. Did tens of thousands of them. We got so bored doing them that we would race, could do one in less than 30 seconds. The boss loved it. Nice job.

When you add the aluminum channel, does it have the added benefit of straightening the edge that always scrapes the glass?

Same way I did mine. I think they fit much better and aren't as flimsy.
