Haha, no it's not stuffed in the back of the garage. Progress continues, but slowly. I ran into some health challenges at the beginning of the year and quit my job as a result so that slowed things down for a while, and my friend got busy with other projects too. I did stop by his place a couple weeks ago and he's been back on it recently.

My apologies up front for the crappy cell phone pics.

I continue to hunt down parts, and scored a couple great finds this past summer - an NOS decklid and set of NOS doors (only 1 is pictured). Not sure I can bring myself to use the NOS decklid - it's just sooooo nice, and I've never seen another. I will use the doors however.

I can't stress how much metal work has been required to bring this car back, even to this point and there's a lot still to be done. Even paying reduced rates to my buddy, the metal surgery alone is going to be north of $10k in the end.

Front End - the front end and replacement clip were both carefully disassembled, and the two will be joined back together using factory seams. A new spare tire well was welded in as were firewall patches, and several internal pieces still need to be repaired including the convertible supports. About 80% done at this point.

Rear End - A lot of time has been spent repairing the problems in the rear clip, and it's about 80% done as well. It took 3 replacement clips to patch together a solid firewall and luggage tray, and the bottom corners had to be put back together as well. The bottom rear quarters are currently being repaired, and once those are done, it will be ready to send to the blaster.

Once both clips are complete, blasted and primed, they will then be fitted and welded to the new Gerson heater channels and pan. It will probably be spring 2019 when that happens.

The project stalled, but I'm about to fire it up again. My good friend Joe McRae at Rustology Garage is going to finish the metalwork.
