Any PDSIT carb rebuilders on thesamba? I know of a few rebuilding beetle carbs, but had not read about anyone rebuilding typ3 carbs.
Thanks! _________________ 1971 1302LS Convertible (RHD) owned since '74

My story on my type three carb rebuild with Tim, found here in classifieds and scored four type three carbs which needed rebuild. Sent them to Tim, asked him to send me back the best carbs after he performs his magic. Well it was not inexpensive and well worth every penny. Bolted the carbs on the engine hooked up linkage, turn the key engine came to life.
I would recommend you send them to him and you will be glad you did.

If you do use Tim, make sure you have him upgrade the fuel inlet fittings. The stock fittings are just a press-fit into the carb body and can come loose over time (especially if you pull on the fuel hose to remove it), potentially leading to a fire if one happens to pop out of the carb body as you're driving down the road.
Tim offers the option to replace the press-in fitting with a threaded fitting that is also barbed where the hose slips on. _________________ 1965 Volkswagen 1500 Variant S

Is this part available from any source? I want the upgraded fuel inlet, but not a full rebuild.
I'm in Europe and sending the carburettors to the US is not cost effective. |
Agreed. Good question. I'm in the states, and would like to upgrade, but my carbs don't need to be rebuilt. I had talked to the guy in OZ or somewhere in that area, but he wasn't interested in shipping to the USA. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof
