You can get Tygon rubber blend rated up to 270 F
I think standard Tygon rated at 160-170 would be fine here, with an inspection regimen. _________________ .ssS! |

I'm looking forward to ordering that. On another note, I just drove 400 miles today which was the first good test for the air control kit I installed a few weeks ago. What a dramatic improvement in comfort control. I used AC, heat and many settings of the air control flap. Great fun, function and value. Recommended. _________________ - Jim

Thanks to everyone for the excellent comments, and your orders!
For anyone who has gone to my "Guides" page looking for the installation instructions for the new valve, the file's not ready yet, but I’ll have that up in the next few days. It’s mostly just the same as replacing the stock valve, but making sure it’s placed in the return hose for the bleed feature to work best, and running the little bleed tube up to the radiator top. You need to lift the instrument cluster too to connect the new cable to the control lever. _________________ Shop for unique Vanagon accessories at the Vanistan shop:

Hi Chris,
Our vans have Vintage Air front AC and heating systems, installed by our mechanic. Will your valve work with that setup?
Thank you. |

No idea, but if your rig still uses the stock heater valve you can probably use this one. _________________ Shop for unique Vanagon accessories at the Vanistan shop:

Interested in this too. I think the vintage ac uses an electronically actuated valve in the same location that the stock one used to be. I'll take a look and post back. It would be really nice to have more flow to the core and auto bleeding! _________________ 84 Westy Syncro- 3.3L SVX stage 2 tune, subaru gears 6speed with tbd, front locker, porche brakes x4, aux tank, radflo susp |

I think I have the older style. The bleeder connection at the valve is plastic and mine broke before I had a chance to install. I just installed a brass cap and and running without the bleeder function. _________________ Patrick Brown
