Yeah I'll give it a go. |
Sender and gasket ordered...stand by for final verdict. |
nice one John, did you order from Merlin?
Keen to see how this goes, and if the one from Merlin works not only is it gen VDO but it doesn't have the scene tax %%. |
Yes from Merlin...should be here around the weekend. |
Arrived early...ordered yesterday here this afternoon.
Fits nicely, already has a thick rubber seal but I took that off and fitted the cork gasket I'd ordered at the same time.
The tank doesn't have a lot of fuel at the moment so I'll take it out for a run tomorrow to let the gauge and sender settle. Looks like it works OK when the ignition is switched on...I'll put a bit more fuel in tomorrow.

I had a new sending unit from a vendor of Ghia parts and it never seemed to work properly. I found a new old stock VDO FGSU and installed 8 years ago and has worked great ever since. |

A bit late to the party, but I have ordered from Merlin in the past without any issues with the VDO senders and they work on both 6v & 12v . _________________ -------------------
