How about modified diecast? Maybe something that is frowned on here, but I am sure someone will let me know if it is.

I got tired of looking at this tired Solido (1:19th technically I think) Split Beetle. I was either going to 82e it, or, well, I didn't know....

Nothing is frowned on here so long as it's creative expression. Plastic isn't the only medium.

This looks like a great idea for a kitbash!

Now it just needs some massive engine located someplace!

The Baja Bandito was greeted with such enthusiasm that I was sent another one to freshen up. This one appears to have been
built at some time, then was knocked back down for some reason, so I'm doing a sympathetic restoration. The original decals
are in good shape on this one.

For this BB I decided to change things up and go with a blue engine (even though I know that's a Ford thing and not a Chevy,
I can do what I want.)

First step was rebuilding the front end.

Also on my bench was this original set of "Go-Go Swingers," also in 1/25 scale, that needed some repair. They bear a striking
resemblance to a certain mop-top group from the 1960s.

You mean a Judson Supercharged Okrasa engine is outta the question? More to the point, it's the "someplace" that has me scratching my head, LOL!

Loving the Bandito...the motorbike is what twigged me to actually building one when I was a kid(aircraft captured more of my attention back then).

You've all been working on (and finishing) projects and all I've been doing is watching, so I finally cleared off a spot on the bench for my old IMC kit. Here's a start, getting the body cleaned up:

I decided to build this one to represent the Turkis '62 that we drove for several years and a lot of miles.......and I still wish I hadn't sold.

It's good to be back working on a VW that isn't 1/1 scale.... I used an air scoop from my airplane spare parts bins for the license light.
