Here’s another question, how late were people installing metal sunroofs? What’s the latest one found?
I recently bought a roof clip with a Webasto fabric roof and looking at the mirror mount it appears to be off a later Ghia, when they transitioned to the metal mirror with the courtesy light (1964?). I wonder how late those were being installed?
I guess in any case they are super rare and would fall under the category of desirable aftermarket accessory even if you found one off another car and installed it yourself in another car? (Hint hint). _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

Was doing some research and came across this. Looks like as late as 1963 you could order a Golde sunroof as an option which indicates that it was factory installed. Not aftermarket.

Ah, nice catch. It was in the KG lit section so I assumed it was for KG. Forgot the Germans called the Beetle “Limousin” back then. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!
