I heard or read somewhere that the spring plates are barndoor specific but couldn’t find any difference in spline numbers. Later plates fit right on.

Barndoor plates are cut out similar to beetle at the transmission end.

Barndoor torsions are shorter.

You can use later torsions in a barndoor with "special" plates being made now.

Heavy hacks or rust would be the only reason I can imagine why to swap out a torsion unless there’s benifits I’m missing? Pictures of this special plate for reference would be great. Who Makes um?

Btw,,, Merry Christmas everyone! Cool

I know of a few barndoors being built that are missing torsions, one of my own for example. Maybe there is a softer ride with longer toriosins Think I have a few sets at my shop (dropped/adjustable) not something for the stock crowd. Wink
