Hi
I got a 67 wiper assembly and I want to remove all the parts to blast and repaint the metal frame. How do I disassemble the wiper shafts? There is a clip on the wiper side, which secures the shaft from moving. This clip is so tiny, I can‘t find a good way to remove it. Anyone has done it and have a good advise or tool to use to get it removed without destroying it?

| Plus strop your shaft with a strip of 320 sandpaper like a shoeshine boy. The snap-clip only needs to move out of the recess then slid off. |

You can press against the arm, then the clip should be a bit more accessible.Then you can use a pointy tool to pry it off. There is a springwasher between the arm and rhe bushing. |
IIRC, you have to take them apart to replace them.
Make sure the shafts and moving parts are greased upon reassembly.
take pics so you know how to orient the parts.
my 66 kombi had worn sloppy pivots, and I installed new WW repro pivots:
