Hello All,
Can anyone tell me if they changed through the years for using screws, rivets, solid rivets or ? to affix VIN plates during Type 11 production? What would be correct for a 1963
Thanks

On this very same website you are reading right this instant has a "Classifieds" button up on the left hand side of the screen. Hover your mouse cursor over that button and a pop up list will POP up. Left click on the "Search" feature. On the search page of the classifieds, enter "M-code" or "VIN plate" and left click on the "Parts-Type 2/parts- 1949-67" category to limit results. If you have no luck that way today, keep searching every week. Meanwhile put up an advert for what you want by left clicking the "Place an Ad" in the classifieds pop up list. Put "WTB" at the beginning of the title, and do feel free to use any of the images from my post in that other thread. "WTB" means "Wanted To Buy". Someone somewhere is likely parting out a bus and will be willing to sell or even give you those screws.
Barring that, you could try your local threaded fastener supply shop or even online shops with the dimensions I posted in mm or the SAE ones shown in the images.

Oh! Just spit balling here, might check the screws used for front type 1 VIN plates. Could be the same.... _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |
