This is for sale on eBay. I have never seen one of these. It is listed as a ‘77, and the seller claims there were only 500 of them made. This one is in Mexico, and it can be yours for $60,000. There’s about 20 pictures in the listing. Anyone know if this is indeed factory? I think it’s pretty awesome.

The Thing Shop and I believe Recycle Auto Parts used to sell that fiberglass top to make it a pickup. |

Definitely not factory and in my opinion not worth any where near $60k... _________________ "Someday the world is gonna be populated by nothing but Volkswagens'" Corporal Klairvoy |

The white one is factory made in Mexico. They were made for the one of the utility companies in Mexico. Very rare and very collectible. |

My first instinct was to be disgusted by that. But it’s actually bad-ass the more I look at it. |

Cool concept.
It should be quieter and warmer than our conventional (ha that's funny) Type 181's.
However I do no see any heater ducts in glove box or along the tunnel.
Still neat.
$60,000 neat?
That's an original WWII Type 82 Kubelwagen range. |

I'd say the Pick-up is rarer. Seen plenty of Acapulcos but less than a half a dozen pick-ups. _________________ Walküre Restoration Thread: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=737492 |

Never seen either in person but I would think the pickup also. Especially if you count all the fake Acapulcos. |
