2.1 engine

I was cleaning things for reassembly and found that one of the pushrods was not like the others.

It is fatter with tapered ends instead of the stepped down half balls.

Anyone know what it belongs to?

I have other pushrods, I subbed one in for this odd one.

2 thoughts. Solid lifter and hydraulic lifter engines had different push rod tubes. Or, maybe it’s from an air cooled beetle 1600 type engine. Lucky you had substitutes.

That looks like an aircooled solid lifter pushrod. If it is it should be both fatter and slightly longer than the hydraulic one.
