I realize that this is probably a big ask, but can we get a section on the forum for the lasten transporter?
It’s the European big brother to the vanagon that was used as a work truck in Europe. They are becoming more popular as gray market imports into the US. I personally have one. It is difficult at best to find much information on these, The only other form that I am aware of is located on brickworks and is haphazard at best.

A lot of parts and pieces seem to be shared but it also has one off stuff like door panels etc. if it’s a Westfalia then a lot of the camper parts of shared, the engine is a straight six turbo diesel like the rabbit but with two more cylinders. Some are turbo and some are not. Some have a four-cylinder in-line gas motor shared with the Porsche 924.
I guess the reason I ask this is looking towards the future, I think they’re becoming pretty popular, and information is hard to come by and scattered. I always rely upon the samba for anything VW related as it always has the most information and the best opinions as long as you have the time to search or sift. Thanks for everything _________________ There is still a lot out there to learn... |

I'm not sure there is enough content to warrant a dedicated new section?
Obviously it's larger and different but is it different mechanically from a Vanagon? |
i used to drive these back in the day when they were new, and they have nothing in common with a vanagon.
They are basically a box truck, too. 4x4 as well.
more like a Ford Econoline, really.
Tons of camper conversions on the LT platform. My brother has one (in Germany).
found a picture of the inside of the cab for illustration:

Can we get any traction on this? I guess whether or not it’s related to the vanagon doesn’t matter, Dashers and quantum’s aren’t related to Vanagons, Brasillas aren’t related to vanagon ‘s, but we have a thread for those?
It would be nice to just have one place where people can start building information on these vehicles? _________________ There is still a lot out there to learn... |

Thanks for posting again
I promoted that thread to a Sticky - thank you KTPhil for locating that.
Let's start with that.
If you think it would be better in Vanagon let me know and I'll move it.
If you would prefer to make your own "Official" thread that is ok too - make one and kick it off with some general information about LTs and I'll sticky that one instead. _________________ How to Post Photos
